How to stand out and get noticed
The very first website was launched live on 6th August 1991. A year later there were 60 websites and by the end of 1993 this number had grown to 623 websites: so many that ALIWEB, the world’s first search engine, was launched. SEO must’ve been much easier back then…
The number of websites continued to grow and by the time Google arrived on the scene in 1998 there were 2 million websites. Today there are some 2 billion websites serving around 6 billion internet users (60 million regular internet users in the UK alone).
The world wide web provides access to literally billions of people who might be interested in what you have to offer. But how to reach them, especially when competition can be so intense? That’s where our search engine optimisation (SEO) services might help.
The fundamentals of Search Engine Optimisation
We employ tried-and-tested techniques recommended by Google to get results: including optimising your code, identifying keywords, setting meta-tags, having unique page titles, setting canonical links and defining image alt-tags etc.
However, your content is king: to perform well in search engines, your website needs to have unique text talking about what your target audience is typing into Google (other search engines are available, but Google is the overwhelming market leader).
According to Google: Your number one priority is ensuring that your users have the best possible experience on your site. Think about what makes your site unique, valuable, or engaging.
How we optimise websites to rank well in search engines
First, we’ll carry out a site audit to see how you’re currently doing, whilst learning as much as possible about your business, marketplace and competitors to identify promising keywords. Based on this, we’ll ensure that all of the fundamentals of SEO are in place across your site: to optimise your existing website as much as possible.
For ongoing projects we’ll develop a strategy to increase the amount of high-quality traffic to your website: with clearly defined key performance indicators and transparent reporting against these metrics on a monthly or quarterly basis.
We’ll also identify any barriers to search engine success and advise accordingly, for example changing your web hosting provider or, in extremis, we’ll urge you to consider redeveloping your website.
There’s no shortcut to success: it will take time to get results. But we have over 15 years’ experience knowing what works (and what doesn’t work) when it comes to improving the visibility of your website in the search engine results pages.
