About Blue Ice Website Design
Hailing from the North East of England, Blue Ice has worked on hundreds of projects with dozens of clients since our formation in 2008.
We predominantly work with small and medium businesses; including start-ups and sole traders. But we also work with larger companies such as FTSE 100-listed Sage, respected politicians like the Rt Hon David Davis MP, influential campaign groups like Big Brother Watch, leading law firms like Gibson & Co. and luxury travel companies like Volcanoes Safaris.
Our history
Blue Ice Website Design was formed on 19th October 2008 by Stuart Smitheringale whilst living in Thorpe Thewles, Stockton-on-Tees, in the North East of England.
Stuart says: I had just left IBM, where I was employed as a business development specialist on their graduate training scheme. Wanting to start my own business providing carbon footprint audits; I needed a website and set about building one.
Deciding that I was now a web developer, I advertised in a local magazine and soon found my first paying clients to work with. I really loved the creative side of web development and learning to code meant that I could bring my creations to life.
Over the years I have developed my skillset as a front-end developer: writing code to a high standard (HTML, CSS, JS, PHP). And I have considerable experience with WordPress, SEO, branding, graphic design, web accessibility, UX/UI design etc.
Today, I no longer work alone: I’m supported by an incredibly talented team of graphic designers, photographers and copywriters. Together we build high quality websites that get results for our clients at a fair price.
